Dr. Afaq Ahmad is an Assistant Professor and communication researcher with extensive experience in journalism, media studies, and communication research. He holds an M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Aligarh Muslim University, India. With over a decade of academic experience, he has taught diverse subjects including TV production, video editing, digital journalism, public relations, media ethics, international and intercultural communication, integrated marketing communication, and content writing.
He has served as Assistant Professor at institutions including Gulf University (Bahrain), Woxsen University (Hyderabad), GD Goenka University (Gurugram), Lovely Professional University (Punjab), and Haji Ismail Degree College (Ayodhya). He also served as Associate Professor and Head of the Department at Cherraan’s Arts and Science College, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Ahmad has published more than 30 research papers in Scopus, Web of Science, and UGC-CARE indexed journals and regularly presents research papers at national and international conferences. He has supervised Ph.D. scholars in journalism and mass communication and has extensive editorial and reviewing experience with international academic journals. His research interests include AI and media in the post-truth era, digital and social media algorithms, integrated marketing communication, media and politics, media and human rights, film studies, international communication, and digital journalism.
