Dr. Swati Rai is an academic and legal professional with specialization in cyber law, data protection, intellectual property rights, human rights, and technology law. She currently serves as Assistant Professor at Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Indore, where she has been associated since June 2017. Her academic career includes prior faculty experience at New Government Law College, Indore, where she also held administrative responsibilities as Placement Officer and Faculty In-charge of the Moot Court Competition Club. Dr. Rai holds a PhD in Law (2025) from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, and has qualified both the National Eligibility Test (NET) and Madhya Pradesh State Eligibility Test (MP SET). Her educational background includes an LLM in Criminal Group, a BA LLB (Hons.) from National Law Institute University, Bhopal, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Law from Rajiv Gandhi Cyber Law Centre, NLIU Bhopal. She is also pursuing an MBA in Human Resource Management from Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. Her professional experience extends to legal practice, having worked with Khaitan, Jayker & Partners Law Associates, Mumbai, where she handled regulatory compliance matters for Hindustan Unilever across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. She has also completed multiple internships with leading law firms, corporate organizations, and legal practitioners. Dr. Rai is an active researcher with numerous publications in national and international journals and edited volumes, including SCOPUS-indexed publications. Her research interests focus on data protection laws, cybercrime, privacy, artificial intelligence and human rights, intellectual property, environmental law, and gender justice. She has presented papers at a wide range of international and national conferences and seminars, and has edited academic journals and books. She also serves on the editorial board of a legal journal and has undertaken certification programs related to AI-driven enterprise transformation and generative AI in international business.
